Summer implies the pleasure of unwinding in the summer tranquillity, a season for sun and sea and swimming in the beautiful blue Adriatic. There is also an endless choice of activities that refresh body and soul and reveal the riches of local cookery, vines and culture and offer opportunities to discover answers to many questions. Travelling through history you will find St.Euphrasius basilica in Poreć, salt works in Piran, get to know Grožnjan; the town of young people, arts and music. There is also the Roman arena in Pula, medieval frescoes and the heaven that is the Brijuni islands. Brtonigla’s immediate area offers genuine sights; the gracious church in Radine dedicated to the Lady of Lourdes, the nearby ramparts and in Brtonigla itself there is the church of St. Zenon and the “Rukavina” gallery. In the evening when the sea is ablaze with the last rays of the sun and gentle wind caresses the air, the desire to enjoy the traditional Istrian cuisine and the rich flavours of the local fish and shellfish becomes irresistible. On the quaysides along the coast there is a myriad of restaurants and inns, or you can find them scattered around village squares immersed in the festive summer atmosphere like the mid-August celebration of St. Rocco in Brtonigla.
